Rob Zombie
The Electric Warlock Acid Witch
Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser

First off, without hesitation, I will say that I am a Rob Zombie fan. His music, visual style both live and theatrical, his Basil Gogos/Rat Fink inspired artwork, and his overall writing style has always not only impressed me, but has always managed to inspire me; from his days with White Zombie, to his amazing solo career and beyond. Rob Zombie is without a doubt a true mad scientist of horror and heavy metal - reinventing it time and time again with his films, music videos, and albums.

His latest monster-piece of the musical macabre, the overly long titled "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" - (try saying that in one breath, and I thought his "Venomous Rat Regeneration Vender" was a lot to say) is absolutely a piece of musical insanity. 12 tracks, only 1 of which is above the 3 minute mark comes on fast and hits you like a razor wired bat to the chest, but just as fast as it starts, it ends with you asking yourself, "What the hell was that?" It is his shortest album to date, but it is effective and it pays off amazingly.

The first track, "The Last Of The Demons Defeated" kicks off Mr. Zombie and Co.'s new monsterwork. To me; I hear very early reflections of White Zombie's La Sexorcisto" style to this track. Musically, it's catchy and to the point with a grunge metal attitude with Rob's growling vocals matching perfectly - a staple which made me love White Zombie the first time I ever heard them. Zombie and John 5 are bringing that style back in their newest effort and as a fan of the White Zombie style, I love it.

Up next is "Satanic Cyanide! The Killer Rocks On!" - A very groove heavy track filled with horror film samples and Rob's signature raspy vocal work. Simply put, classic Zombie in its truest form "The Life and Times of A Teenage Rock God" is very reminiscent of another White Zombie classic "Rat Finks, Suicide Tanks, and Cannibal Girls" in its flow and delivery. Not complaining at all and it doesn’t stray from what works; and this works!

"Well Everybody's F*cking In A UFO" is what I call the "Stripper's Track" because this is the track that every stripper will be dancing to and every headbanger will be banging their heads to. Ginger Fish's drums and Piggy D's bass slam so hard during this track while John 5 brings the noise, hammering away at his guitar, laying the groundwork for Zombie's trucker inspired lyrics. Track 5 is John 5's instrumental solo spot on the album. "A Hearse That's Overturned With The Coffin Bursting Open" reminds the listener of J5's guitar work on the "Educated Horses" album as well as his musical score to Zombie's film, "The Lords Of Salem." Very Melodic while creating an eerie atmosphere.

"The Hideous Exhibitions Of A Dedicated Gore Whore" is a track that I would call the sequel to "Living Dead Girl". It has a nice go go dance quality to it that makes you picture Lily Munster, Vampira, and Tura Satana jamming to while cruising in the Munster's Koach. "Medication for the Melancholy" is a very signature Zombie frenzy track that makes you want to kill, and makes the people that you kill want to get up and kill. A revisit to "Black Sunshine" mixed with a dash of "Dead Girl Superstar".

"In the Age of The Consecrated Vampire We All Get High" aka: "Get High" is a track that when I hear it, makes me feel 15 again. It's a song with a very White Zombie "Astro Creep" era feel to it. Backwards guitars, samples, heavy slamming grooves with a catchy chorus that seems to scream at you from the bowels of hell itself. "Super-Doom-Hex-Gloom Part 1" is an instrumental droney style intermission that is guaranteed to drive you insane; especially if you've got a head full of good acid. "In The Bone Pile" immediately gets your head bouncing. It's heavy, yet you can drop your seat back in your car and cruise the streets while stalking your prey to it. A great sexy groove track.

After that we have "Get Your Boots On! That's The End Of Rock And Roll". This track displays Ginger, John 5, and Piggy D's talents as the band. Thumping bass and drums add a genuine heavy groovy to J5's masterful guitar work while Zombie's monstrous vocals bark at you to suit up for battle. And lastly, the final track "Wurdalak", which is the longest track on the disc, eerily creeps its way into your ears. This is what Black Sabbath's Black Sabbath would be if it spewed forth a pissed off mutant child. Dark and Heavy in only a way that Zombie could do it; a grotesquely unique piece of chamber music with heavy guitar and a dark vocal by Mr. Zombie that is both frightening and evil. This track fades the album to a halt with a beautiful melodic and eerie piano that leaves the listener seeing in their mind the dying of the candle and its last flicker before finally extinguishing into a puff of smoke.

For me personally, while I love all of his albums because each is unique in its own form; I think it is some of Rob Zombie's best work since "Hellbilly Deluxe". This is just a great solid album of solid material that flows really well. It is definitely a recommended album for any true Zombie Head to own. I have been waiting a long time on this album and I was not disappointed. This will more than satisfy the hardcore fans who like I await Mr. Zombie's next cinematic opus, "31". Until then, go out and pick up "The Electric Warlock Acid Witch Satanic Orgy Celebration Dispenser" today!
