ALBUMS UNDER REVIEW

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

All in all I will have to admit that I am very disappointed in the album as a whole. I enjoy the songs with Floor Jansen and Fabio Lione, but that is honestly about it. Some of the tracks aren't bad, but I felt that the right vocalists weren't chosen for each song and that a few of them had recycled ideas strewn throughout. Tolkki's solos on most tracks were a little more complex than on Land of New Hope, but it’s easy to see that the cast here is what makes this album suffer a little bit. There will supposedly be a third album to complete the trilogy and I am honestly hoping for a lot more out of it than what I got out of Angels of the Apocalypse. I was expecting this to be one of my albums of the year, when in all actuality it’s probably going to be an album that I listen to four songs from it. Due to about half of it being really good, especially the Fabio Lione tracks I would give this album about a 60%.
