Show Notes:
Episode Sixty-Two: Is our Canada Day special, celebrating our nation's birthday. In doing so we decided to discuss Annihilator's sophomore album Never, Neverland. The album came out in July of 1990 and it ushered in new singer Coburn Pharr. The album received mostly favourable reviews and was considered a descent follow-up to the classic of Alice In Hell.
In addition to discussing the album, we came with up several segments that celebrate all things Canadian Metal. We started with each of us providing our playlists of the 10 best Canadian metal songs. For the next segment, we each gave our best pics of two to three underrated metal bands, and followed it up with our best band from the big four of Canadian Thrash metal. Ken selected Sacrifice and both Billy and Jim went with Voivod. Finally, we ended the show with each of us highlighting one new thrash band.
Fun Facts: Going back to Annihilator, the album artwork was again created by Len Rooney Creative who also did the artwork to Alice In Hell. The artwork based on a concept by Jeff Waters, is a vivid, surreal depiction that reflects the album's dark and psychological themes—very much in line with the band's thrash metal aesthetic.
