Show Notes:
Episode Ten: Power Trip's Nightmare Logic (2017). This Is the second studio release from American crossover thrash act hailing from Dallas. Texas. The album was released on Southern Lord Records and was met with critical acclaim. The music is full of raw intensity, powerful riffs, in addition to the band's continual growth in songwriting.
Musically speaking, Nightmare Logic brings together hardcore punk and plenty of 80's speed metal. The album is highly praised for it's intensity, speed and tight production courtesy of Arthur Rizk. Many of the songs condemn corporate greed, power and corruption, while keeping it street level. Frontman Riley Gale is considered a lyrical genius and was a strong voice in capturing the band's signature sound. If you love early thrash combined with the music of Cro-Mags, Prong and Black Flag, then this is for you.
Fun Fact: Joel Grind (of Toxic Holocaust fame) mastered this release, along with Arthur Ryzk (Eternal Champion) who produced this release.
Final Thoughts: Riley Gale died from an accidental fentanyl overdose on August 24, 2020.
