Show Notes:
Episode Twenty-Three: Evildead Annihilation of Civilization (1989). Is the debut album from Los Angeles area thrashers who were considered a part of the third wave of California thrash metal. The band was formed by members of Agent Steel and Abattoir and came to become a band that combined thrash and hardcore.
Evildead took their name from Sam Raimi's horror classic The Evil Dead and developed an aggressive punk infused style with prolific thrash riffing. The guitar tandem of Juan Garcia and Albert Gonzales provided leads and trade off solos that sounded blistering on the debut and sophomore releases. In addition, the raw vocals of Phil Flores helped to fill out the violence of the music.
Fun Facts: The album cover and logo were created by the great Ed Repka. The cover features the band's mascot; who represented an undead business professional.
