Show Notes:

Episode Forty One: It's the start of a new year as we usher in 2025 with a review of Mortal Sin's 1989 album Face of Despair. The band hail from Australia and are considered one of the better thrash acts to come from the land of down under. Released April 17th, 1989, Face of Despair is the band's sophomore album and is looked upon as unheralded classic of the genre.

The album bore the same line-up from the initial release and is a direct follow-up to Mayhemic Destruction. The album had better production and technically improved songs, preserving what was started on the debut release. It gave fans a chance to enjoy the band's more relaxed style of thrash metal and giving you tracks like "I Am Immortal", "Innocent Torture" and "Suspended Animation". Mortal Sin were the best speed/thrash band coming out of Australia and this album demonstrates this fact rather well.

Fun Facts: A music video was made for "I Am Immortal" and the album was recorded at Paradise & EMI 301 Studios in Sydney.
