Show Notes:

Episode Twenty: Prong's Beg To Differ (1990). Hailing from New York, this is the second release from the crossover thrashers; who are credited for melding the genres of hardcore, thrash, industrial and groove metal.

Beg to Differ was released March 12th, 1990 on Epic Records and was the record where Prong changed their musical style. They showcased an experimentation with thrash and speed metal elements and included hardcore influences from bands like Bad Brains and Suicidal Tendencies. The album is also credited for being the first for utilizing groove metal, beating Pantera's Cowboys From Hell by four months.

Fun Facts: The album cover art was done by Brian "Pushead" Schroeder and is considered iconic. Frontman Tommy Victor was at one point the soundcheck man at NY's famous punk venue CBGB's, before starting Prong. He has also worked with Rob Zombie, Danzig, Ministry, in addition to playing in Prong.
