Show Notes:
Episode Fifty-Four: This week we bring on special guest Tad Leger drummer from the first two Toxik albums. We talk about the brilliant speed/technical thrash album from the band that was released July 7th on Roadrunner Records.
The album featured ten tracks all written by guitarist Josh Christian and backed by the air raid siren vocals from Mike Saunders. Many of the songs featured complex guitar passages and arrangements of pure speed metal bliss, while being technical and explosive. The title track World Circus is memorable for socially charged lyrics and followed by thrashers like Door To Hell and the adrenaline fuelled operner Heart Attack.
The final segment of the show was a fun round robin as the guys and Tad went around the room to each give their top five horror movies of the 80s. The list was quite diverse and some good talking points came up as a result. Tad provided some neat insights into his list, as he talked about his current profession of designing DVD cover art for Grindhouse and Blueunderground.
Fun Facts: The album cover art was done by the great Ed Repka and is considered a favorite piece among fans. However, Tad explained that he originally wanted comic artist Bernie Wrightson as the artist, but they were unable to secure his services at the time.
